“You've already said you were going to kill me," Alex said, "but I didn't think that meant you were going to bore me to death.”
Alex Rider lived his life, not knowing the truth. The truth of what actually happened to his parents, and soon, his uncle. But he learns of it after his uncle's death: that his father and his uncle were spies. Alex didn't want to become a spy at first, but there was no choice but to complete the assignment given because of certain circumstances. Alex Rider became the youngest spy to be ever put on a mission. Book after book, Alex had no choice but to accept the missions. The progression from the first book to the last is very large in terms of character. In the beginning, Alex is pretty confused in his mission. He does not know what to do, which is very understandable seeing it was his first time doing anything like becoming a spy. Nonetheless, in the last book, we can see how Alex has matured from the first time; he can do things more naturally, and he is able to perform his missions better. There are a few bumps in the road, as with all books, but Alex somehow gets through all of them. As we get deeper into the series, we get glimpses of what happened in the past, especially with his parents, and we are able to get answers to the questions that has been haunting us through the entire series, which is very satisfying. This is one of my absolute favourites, especially since I love books with action and suspense. I would 100% recommend this book to people who aren't interested in reading, because I think that this series is a really fun series to get people to start reading.
